Privacy Policy

Smart Courier ("we", "our", or "us") is a Shopify app that helps merchants book courier shipments directly from their Shopify admin. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Data We Collect

When you install Smart Courier, we collect and store:

Shop domain — to identify your store.
Shopify access token — to read your orders on your behalf.
Courier API Key — the key you provide during setup to connect your courier account.
Order data — customer name, phone, address, and order amount fetched at the time of booking a shipment.
Shipment logs — tracking numbers and booking status stored per order.

We do not collect payment card details or store customer passwords.

2. How We Use Your Data

To authenticate your store with Shopify.
To fetch order details and send them to your courier service.
To display shipment history within the app.
To comply with Shopify's GDPR data deletion requirements.

3. Data Sharing

We share order data only with the courier service you have configured (Karachi Courier). We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any third-party advertisers or analytics providers.

4. Data Retention

We retain your store session and shipment logs for as long as the app is installed. When you uninstall the app, your session is deleted immediately. Shipment logs are permanently deleted within 48 hours of uninstallation in response to Shopify's shop/redact webhook.

5. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are based in the EU or UK, you have the right to:

Request a copy of the data we hold about your store or customers.
Request deletion of your data.
Object to how we process your data.

6. Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Access tokens and API keys are stored in an encrypted SQLite database on our VPS and are never logged or exposed in plain text.

7. Cookies

We use a single session cookie to keep you logged in during your browser session. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted at https://app.karachicourier.com/privacy with an updated date.
